    This is a fully restored #handmade #17thcentury #towerclock certainly #forged and built by a very talented #blacksmith. Now Meticulously restored by a true #craftsman #artisan and friend. I remember when he brought it home after discovering it collecting dust in a shed in the #southernhighlandsnsw It made its way to his workshop as a collection of old boxes full of very dirty and #rusty parts and a main frame missing pieces. I had my doubts at the time wether he could ever get it working again. It was certainly a red hot f#forging session on Saturday, #hotmetal being hit all over the place, from novices to trainee #blacksmiths it was a full on day with plenty of blood sweat and tears🔥⚒👍in the old #blacksmithshop in #wildesmeadow Even though it was a hot day for bending steel, some nice pieces were made and lots of tricks if the trade learned👍⚒Courses in #blacksmithing are still available @1910_ironworks to book your place ring me or email your requirements! https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn4CFTnvVA_/ My goodness it’s getting towards the end of January already🤨and the leaves will be turning once again in the #southernhighlandsnsw and we’ll have a que of #vintage #woodstoves to restore before #winter🥶 However, right now we’re just finishing off a few projects from last year and having a meeting with new clients discussing some truly amazing projects for 2023. It was a big teaching weekend and it was great to have my students back in the #blacksmithshop again, making some really cool stuff!! The new 1910 courses are smaller and more intense given feedback from past students. The classes are smaller for more one on one teaching and we’ve built more learning into the day. We’re just about to launch for the first time a weekend course using gas and coal forges, later in the year we’ll be adding the #powerhammer to the classes and some other really cool #vintagemachinery l’ve also showcased some more of our #arrisan #bespoke work from last year. In fact we made, #restored and designed a lot of classic hand forged interior and exterior furniture last year. This year there is far more #metalsculpture and very detailed period work, like an #artnouveau folly 4 metres high for a magnificent garden in #bowral in the #southernhighlandsnsw a truly #signature piece for @1910_ironworks We have some #artdeco furniture to design and produce this year, as well as some very contemporary #lightfittings and some very interesting steel plate gates. We’ve changed our #blacksmithclasses too - smaller classes, more one on one teaching, lots of vintage gear to use, such as a 1904 #springhammer and a host of traditional blacksmithing tools. Another set of pipe gates travelled to Sydney prior to Christmas, these gates are becoming very popular with clients. This set was built from scratch to match a set of existing pre WW1 driveway gates and boundary fence.
