The quality work is out there but you really have to search for it. Also, traditional, general blacksmithing as a trade has been fading away, overshadowed by billet knife making and the taste for axes, swords, daggers, and making daft things online, that is ironwork that’s supposedly cool and sexy…

But I still have hope that with so many of the younger generations wanting to experience blacksmithing – and some of them passionately continuing to practice after they have studied with me (classes closed at present – but if you sign up – new bigger better classes will start hopefully June 2026)

I have been fortunate to have had a run of very creative commissions from clients over the last 12 months that have really allowed me to deliver excellence in the metal-smithing space, particularly in Art Nouveau design and execution.

A more traditional piece of late Victorian, gothic hand forged metalwork, all designed and produced at the 1910 ironworks near Bowral NSW –

The Bullrush Gate as it was nicknamed was designed and hand made for a client in Moree NSW.
